The founders of Astoria Pointe are Bill & Ellie Dooner. They began with a vision of opening a Recovery Center in a location they love best. Astoria, Oregon. It has come to fruition due to their commitment to succeed and lot of hard work.

Bill D. remembers when a young man, his life was unmanageable. He was unemployable and was a disgrace to himself and to everyone who knew him. He lived with pain, anger, and dead ends. He was walking beside death's door every day. Yet despite many attempts on his own to stop drinking, he would find his way back to the bottle over & over again.

It was after he was introduced to Alcoholics Anonymous that he started to learn how to live clean and in the rooms of AA he learned he was worth something and that he could have all of his dreams come true if he became honest and worked the 12 Step program. Since that 18th day of August 1955, Bill D. has over 50 years of continual sobriety. Throughout his sober life, he has owned & ran a number of successful businesses, has the experience of a happy marriage of over 50 years, five healthy, positive-minded adult children and three beautiful grandchildren. Just like millions across the globe, Bill D. was given another chance thanks to people caring enough not to give up on him. He wishes to portray that same attitude & commitment at Astoria Pointe. Getting sober is the beginning of a journey to live life clean of mind altering drugs or alcohol. Astoria Pointe is here for all who want it... to offer Courage, Strength, and Hope.
