| Mission
Statement... Our mission is to provide alcohol and chemically dependent individuals and their families an opportunity to choose a healthier lifestyle. We adhere to the Addictive Disease Model which asserts that addiction is a chronic, progressive, and potentially fatal disease which affects the mind, body, and spirit. Our treatment curriculum integrates the wisdom and experience of the 12 Step program with evidenced based treatment models and current research on addiction. We believe, and research supports, that a holistic treatment approach can empower our patients to recognize and accept their addictions. We are licensed by the State of Oregon utilizing assessment (ASAM PPC-2R), education, group therapy, and individual therapy. Our purpose is to encourage and direct the addict towards establishing a recovery program predicated on abstinence, which demands self honesty. |

About
Us...
Our drug and alcohol treatment center is perched on the side of the hill overlooking the majestic Columbia River. We are a 30 bed facility most recently renovated and beautifully decorated. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The meals are wonderfully presented utilizing the fresh fruits and vegetables growing in the area. The River and the Ocean supply our staff and patients with the freshest fish known to man. |

Our
Services...
We focus on the 12-step model of treatment. Astoria Pointe takes the approach that alcohol and drug addiction is a physical and mental disease and can only be arrested and put in remission with complete abstinence. The first week is an orientation week and the new patient is encouraged to focus on treatment goals by forgoing phone use and receiving visitors for the first week. New patients are paired with a Peer Mentor who orients the new patient to the facility and answers questions. Astoria Pointe provides all bedding, linens, and towels. Our two talented culinary specialist’s offer three delicious meals every day of the week as well as beverages and snacks any time of the day. In the dining room, patients have access to the refrigerator and microwave 24 hours a day. |

Activities...
An average treatment day begins with a meditation. After breakfast, the patients attend a skills lecture and then a process group. After lunch, the group attends a 12-step meeting. The local and regional resources offer plenty of recreational opportunities in the afternoons. Patients have personal time between groups throughout the day and can access the free laundry facilities, use the telephone, rest, read, or do homework. Each patient meets weekly with a counselor for an individual counseling session as well. Families are an important component of treatment and we invite all sober, supportive family members and close friends to visit on the weekends and to participate in the family program. Family members can request a counseling session with a counselor if they choose. For patients who need additional structure from a treatment setting, Astoria Pointe has transitional housing and aftercare counseling that patients attend during the day. The 12-step meeting attendance is part of the aftercare program. |
