About Rosebriar
A healing place designed just for women.
The Rosebriar is a residential drug and alcohol-abuse treatment facility for women suffering from chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. We are a comprehensive program for recovery dealing with all manifestations of chemical addiction and dual-diagnosed individuals, taking our clients all the way from detoxification to aftercare. Our medically monitored detoxification and twelve-step based recovery program provide a unique holistic approach that treats the entire person: body, mind and soul.
The Rosebriar, nestled in the natural beauty of the city of Astoria, Oregon, has an interesting and extensive history.
The Rosebriar was built in 1902 in the neo-classical style with an abundance of historic charm. It was originally constructed as a private home and then later in the 1950’s became a convent, and was eventually transformed to a girls’ school. Finally, in the 1990’s, it was renovated and updated with private baths as a quality Bed & Breakfast.
This grand old Georgian mansion sits high on the hill offering commanding views of the majestic Columbia River, the Megler Bridge, and the town of Astoria. The Rosebriar offers an ideal setting for our women clients. A feeling of warmth, serenity, safety and love greets women as they walk through the front doors. The original stained- glass windows still stand in the chapel where the women will be doing their group sessions. The grounds, handsomely landscaped with a stream and shrine of shells built by the nuns, enhances a women’s stay and help her on her road to recovery. The Rosebriar welcomes women to its homelike setting where beauty and understanding abound; they will find a welcome refuge for their tired spirits.
